destiny 2 season 17

Soon, the 17th season of Destiny 2 will begin, and additional information about the Witch Queen will become available. The new season has been kept under wraps by Bungie, so there isn’t a tonne of information available, but here’s what we know so far.

Destiny 2 Season 17 Release Date

Destiny 2 Season 17 will be published on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, which will delight the gaming community.

Destiny 2 Season 17 start time

Season 17 begins with the weekly reset on May 24. As with other seasonal adjustments, there will be a brief period of inactivity before you may resume playing. The reset time is 1 p.m. ET, 10 a.m. PT, 6 p.m. BST, and 7 p.m. CEST.

You’ll be able to purchase the new season pass for 2,000 Silver, which will automatically unlock the first 10 levels.

Changes to Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris

In Season 17, Lord Saladin and the Iron Banner will undergo significant changes, beginning with his name. From Season 17 onward, he will be known as Bracus Forge and can be found at the Tower’s center, where Eva Levante usually stands. In the new Iron Banner, the power level will be deactivated, and Rift will be the new mode this season, with modes rotating in future seasons.

Tokens will also be eliminated and replaced with a ranking system comparable to those of Shaxx and the Crucible. As you level up, you’ll be able to win Iron Engrams and unlock new cosmetic items and materials after each match.

You can convert Iron Engrams into any currently-obtainable Iron Banner weapon or armor set for an in-game material fee. In addition, there will be a new Seal and title to obtain, which is projected to take between 15 and 20 hours. No more cheese, please!

A further advantage of these revisions is the addition of Disjunction, one of the largest maps to date. It takes set in the Pyramid region of the Throne World, continuing the creepy theme of the Witch Queen. It will also be available in Crucible and Rift for the true PvP champions among you. Iron Banner will only run twice during the upcoming season, on May 31 and July 12, so mark those dates on your calendar.

This season, Trials of Osiris will continue to feature Capture Zone and Freelance weekends. Each season will feature seven maps, with one determined by player votes. Finally, modifications to the rewards for adepts will make the grind more worthwhile.

Destiny 2 Rumours: We Don’t Know Much About the New Dungeon

I enjoy a good rumour, and there are plenty circulating about the 17th season. We are aware that a new dungeon will be introduced in the upcoming season, but we do not know its location or name. Saladin is serving Capital, explaining the absence of the Iron Banner in the upcoming season; thus, there may be an additional legend about him. In addition, there is a rumor that Warmind Rasputin may be downloaded into an Exo body, which would be awesome. Or even poor?

While Bungie has announced that another Light subclass would be updated in 3.0, it is believed that Solar will also be updated. Given that elderly Saladin is a huge Solar admirer, that seems likely. So far, only the Chain of Command heavy machine gun has been confirmed as the season 17 ritual weapon. Next season, there will certainly be some new exotics to gather, so stay tuned for more information.

Leaks

Forbes reports that a recent leak has revealed that a ‘Destiny 1’ Exotic will be added to Season 17 of Destiny 2.

Due to the censored exotic not being redacted in Japanese, the developers accidentally announced that this previous Exotic will be making a return when publishing their ‘This Week At Bungie’ blog.

This allowed players to rapidly learn that The Trespasser will be introduced in Season 17. This exotic sidearm was introduced in Destiny 1’s Rise of Iron.

The element of the blog that gave it away was in a section showing “outliers” for Destiny 2’s new Airborne Effectiveness stat, where a (REDACTED) weapon was included; however, in Japan, this redaction did not function, and the exotic was disclosed.
