Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) was a big hit with viewers right from the start of his Showtime show. During the show’s first run in 2006, people couldn’t get enough of the man who works as a blood-spatter analyst during the day and kills other killers at night. Even though Dexter was off the air in 2013, people aren’t giving up on the show because of it.

After Dexter tried to leave his old life behind and start a new one in Argentina, his coworkers thought he had died in a boat accident and didn’t say anything.

We soon learn that Dexter is alive and well, living under a new name in Oregon. This is what we learned. A lot of people have been wondering if there will be the ninth season of Dexter Morgan. The show intentionally left the door open for Dexter Morgan to come back to our screens in the future.

There will be a new season of Dexter, and it will be a 10-episode one (via Deadline). There is a good chance that Michael C. Hall and Clyde Phillips will be back for the revival. Here’s everything else we know about the show so far:

When Will Dexter Season 9 be Released?

A new Dexter movie has been in the works for a long time, but it hasn’t been ready yet. It’s going to be made for a limited time, and it’s going to be made at the beginning of 2021. It’s supposed to be released in the fall of the same year. This could change, so you should keep an eye out for new information as it comes out. Comicbook.com said that production was on track as of December 2020, so this timeline could be met.

a quote from Gary Levine, the Co-President of Entertainment at Showtime. He said, “It’s a great time to be in the business.” “Only if we could come up with a creative way to show this unique character that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series would we go back and show this character again.

You know what? Clyde Phillips has found it, and we can’t wait to show everyone.” Showrunner: Phillips was in charge of the show from seasons 1 to 4. He was also an executive producer and a writer. As a consultant, he worked on a few episodes of season 5. Since then, he hasn’t worked on the show. It’s great that he’s back, but he’s not alone.

Who Will be in the Dexter Season 9 cast?

There are a lot of projects going on for the main cast of Dexter. For example, Michael C. Hall had a small part in The Crown and starred with Adam Driver in the 2019 movie The Report. Even though Hall has said he would be willing to return to the role that made him famous, it looks like that’s what happened. This revival could have a lot of other actors, but so far, Hall is the only main cast member who has been confirmed to be back.

We would think that David Zayas, who played Angel Batista, and C.S. Lee, who played Vince Masuka, will both be back for the next season. As for whether Jennifer Carpenter will be back as Debra Morgan, who died at the end of Dexter season 8, I don’t know.

During the first four seasons of Dexter, showrunner Clyde Phillips said that it’s possible that Carpenter could come back to play her character in flashbacks and dreams or memories when the show comes back. “There is some room for movie magic.

You know what? That’s all I can say about that “he said that to Us Magazine. Phillips hasn’t said for sure that she’ll come back, though. Right now, he can’t answer that question.

For the first time since season 9 was announced, Screen Rant says that John Cusack will also be a part of this season. Cusack is said to be playing a character named Kurt, who sounds like he could be a good target for our main bad guy.

On November 17, 2020, The Hollywood Reporter had more good news for the show’s staff. Veteran director Marcos Siega has agreed to be an EP on the show’s revival.

He is also going to direct six of the planned episodes. Siege has worked with Phillips for a long time. He directed nine episodes of Dexter that were well-received during the original eight-season run. Phillips wants to make things right with viewers who felt hurt by the season 8 finale.

There will be more casting news in the next few months, so you’ll have to keep checking back to see what comes out. Because Showtime wants to start filming Dexter season 9 in early 2021, casting confirmations should come out soon rather than later.

What’s the Dexter Season 9 Plot?

It doesn’t seem like there are any clues about what season 9 of Dexter will be about. There are a lot of ways the revival could go, though, because season 8 was so open-ended.

There are a lot of Reddit and other forums where people can share their ideas about how this story could go on. When we last saw Dexter Morgan, his friends thought he had died. He made it to Oregon under a new name. He might come out of his shell when a new serial killer starts killing people. His old friends are likely to find out that he’s alive and try to get him to stop.

A statement Phillips made to TV Insider made him feel better, even though it had very little substance. “We’re moving toward an ending that will be, as Chekhov said, surprising but inevitable,” Phillips said. Phillips was only willing to say that the revival would start eight years after the last episode and that Dexter would be in a place we’d never seen him before.

Clyde Phillips’ original ending for the show might even be used in the revival. He came up with the idea of having Dexter be taken into custody and put to death. At that point, Dexter sees the killers he has killed in the past (LaGuerta, the Trinity Killer, and Doakes) appear to him as visions (via Digital Spy). It’s possible that Season 9 could lead to this moment when Dexter kills another serial killer before he has to answer for his crimes.

On February 25, Showtime released the first picture of Michael C. Hall back in his famous role. The picture is cool, but it doesn’t give much away about the possible plot, so not much help there. In the coming months, we’ll learn more about Dexter Morgan’s crimes. For fans who couldn’t get enough of his crimes, this news is very good. Keep an eye out for new information as it comes out.

Dexter Season 9 Trailer

In 2021, at San Diego Comic-Con, Showtime finally showed the whole trailer. There were a lot of scary teasers before that. The preview starts with Dexter going to therapy, which makes it look like he’s trying to stop being a killer. But by the end of the trailer, it is clear that the serial killer is going back to his old ways.

The first footage from Showtime for the ninth season was a gloomy teaser. In it, the main character talks over a shot of an ax stuck in a tree stump as a fire burns in the background. There is no better way to get away from the city than to go outside, he says. I am who I am.

A few days later, Showtime released a longer teaser. It showed the same snowy scene, but then zoomed out and showed Dexter’s worried-looking reflection in the window, as one of his victims writhed around in a body bag in the background. As Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood plays in the background, Dexter smiles at the camera. Creepy!

Dexter is on good terms with the people in the small town where the show is set. They don’t know that he has been a serial killer before. That could change soon, though, because Dexter looks at a knife in the window for too long.

Writer Warren Leonard said on Twitter that he “basically pictured him running around in my hometown of Penobscot, ME.” Dexter season nine takes place in the fictional town called Iron Lake, which is in upstate New York.

Several weeks before the new show started, a teaser image was released that showed cast members old and new against a snowy background.

Dexter: New Blood Reviews

Unfortunately for fans, not all critics have been kind to the show’s reboot. Rolling Stone said that “neither [Hall] nor New Blood come to feel sharp enough to justify [Hall’s] return as anything but a nostalgia play.”

Entertainment Weekly said that “it’s kind of fun to see Dexter again.” IGN said that “New Blood’s mix of old and new has a lot of promise.”
