Jojo Siwa and Avery Cyrus Break Up: In recent years, JoJo Siwa has revealed more about her experiences growing up in the public eye. Previously, she was best known for her vibrant outfits and music.
The Dance Moms alum’s coming out as LGBTQ in January 2021 affected her career as a child star. Jojo has since opened up more about her personal life, including her romantic relationships, to her fans.
A year after coming out, JoJo made her relationship with TikTok star Avery Cyrus public. Since making their relationship official on Instagram in September 2022, the couple has shared their relationship on their respective TikTok accounts and at red-carpet events.
Unfortunately, the relationship did not last, as they announced their separation in December 2022. Initially, their breakup appeared amicable, but JoJo hinted that Avery had ulterior motives for dating the “Boomerang” singer.

After JoJo came out to her fans, she shared information about her romantic life. In the fall of 2022, she posted a TikTok of their first Chuck E. Cheese date. Then, she posted a slideshow on Instagram of her family’s trip to Disney World. After one month of dating, Avery asked JoJo to be her girlfriend on a single slide.
After making their relationship official, JoJo and Avery reaffirmed it in a YouTube video in which JoJo said they “really, really like each other.” Consequently, many were shocked when they announced their separation just a few months later.
Per J-14 magazine, Avery posted a TikTok on December 17 of her and JoJo on a cruise with mutual friends. JoJo appeared in the video with a gift for Avery and said, “This is my “I’m sorry for breaking up with you” gift.” Avery then commented beneath the video that she and JoJo were “better as friends” and signaled that their relationship was fine.
Jojo later implied that things between her and Avery were not, in fact, fine.
On Her Mom’s Instagram Story, Jojo Made Some Claims About Avery. After Avery Responded, Jojo Took to Tiktok to Say More
While Jojo has not specifically named Avery, the singer appeared in her mother Jessalynn Siwa’s Instagram Story where she appeared to elaborate on the relationship. On December 18, Jessalynn posted an Instagram Story of her daughter in the living room looking visibly upset.
When Jessalynn asked JoJo why she was “angry,” the former child star stated it was because she was “used” for “views” and “influence.” Jojo said on camera, “I was tricked into believing I was in love, and I was f–king played.”
Then Avery responded to her ex’s insinuations. According to Avery, she and JoJo decided to part ways amicably, and she denied using the “Hold the Drama” star.

“From my perspective, JoJo and I parted ways amicably and remain friends.” “20 December, Avery explained to People. “The relationship was very genuine, and I have nothing but love for Jojo and her family,” she said, adding, “I’m still very hurt that JoJo dumped me, and I’m saddened and confused by the situation.”
Then, in a TikTok video posted on December 20, the former reality star faced her audience while mouthing an audio clip of someone telling another person, “You make pretty bad throat noises while drinking.” As the accusatory tone of the audio grows, JoJo inserts text referencing the video about her and Avery’s relationship.
JoJo confirmed in her caption that the video was about Avery, writing, “And when I said I just wanted to be friends so I wouldn’t lead you on after an unplanned hookup, you wanted nothing to do with me because there was nothing left to gain.
