manifest season 4

Since the third season of Manifest concluded in June 2021, the show has left viewers with unanswered issues and some nail-biting drama in the season finale. However, shortly after the conclusion of season three, NBC announced that the series would not be renewed for a fourth season.

The outpouring of support from the show’s ardent fans prompted them to launch an internet petition to bring it back. And, in a rare occurrence for television shows, Manifest was renewed for a final season by the network.

In a nutshell, Manifest chronicles the disappearance of a commercial jetliner, Flight 828, a few hours into its voyage and the subsequent reappearance of the whole crew and passengers more than five hours later, after they were assumed dead. For everyone on board, the time jump was symbolized by some turbulence.

As soon as they return to their normal lives, they realize how much has changed in the time they’ve been gone. What’s more bizarre is that the returned passengers and crew begin hearing voices in their heads and experiencing premonitions about events that haven’t even occurred.

Through its three seasons, Manifest captivated audiences with its drama, twists, and turns. And now that the fourth season has been confirmed, let’s learn everything we can about it.

Manifest Season 4

After being abruptly canceled by NBC, Manifest, one of the most popular television shows in recent years, is on the verge of returning for a fourth season on Netflix.

With only a few months until the series’ last season premieres, we now have all the information we could want about its release date, cast, plot, and trailer for Manifest. Manifest has returned with season 4, which will be accessible exclusively on Netflix following the show’s cancellation by NBC last June.

The decision to bring Manifest to Netflix in August 2021 was made following conversations between the streaming service and Warner Bros., and filming on the fourth season began in November of that year.

Manifest Season 4 Expected Release Date

Netflix confirmed in August 2021 that the fourth and final season of Manifest will stream on their platform due to the show’s great performance on Netflix and fans’ online pleas to save the show. The fourth season will consist of twenty episodes but will not be released simultaneously on the streaming service.

Rather than that, it will be divided into two or more sections. Jeff Rake is looking for a November 2022 publication date, but nothing is definite yet.

Manifest Season 4 Cast: Who We Expect to See?

Leads in series Melissa Roxburgh, who portrays Michaela Stone, and Josh Dallas, who plays Ben Stone, have signed on for the final season. J.R. Ramirez is anticipated to join them. Parveen Kaur, Jack Messina, and Luna Blaise, who portrays Olive Stone, as well as Matt Long, who portrays Zeke Landon, are still negotiating their contracts.

Long’s future on the show is now uncertain due to a probable scheduling conflict with his work on the NBC thriller Getaway. “I intend to return for at least some of it. We’re simply determining the greatest amount of work I’m capable of “Extensively stated.

He went on to say, “I adore the program’s lead character, but as you know, when the show was canceled, I scheduled another. It was a pilot’s flight. We have no idea what is happening with it at the moment. Additionally, it is an incredible project. As a result, we’re merely attempting to iron out schedules. Everybody wants what is best for everyone, so fingers crossed that everything works out in the end.”

Season 4 Plot: Expectations

The season three finale of Manifest had multiple cliffhangers that will have a huge impact on the final season’s storyline.

The first was Jared’s (J.R. Ramirez) knowledge of Saanvi’s (Parveen Kaur) role in the killing of Sarah’s (Lauren Norvelle) mother, The Major (Elizabeth Marvel). Additionally, we saw Angelina (Holly Taylor) flee with Grace (Athena Karkanis) following Eden’s murder. Simultaneously, Randall (Christopher Piccione) and Eagan (Ali Lopez-Sohail) were apprehended and detained.

Meanwhile, Cal (Jack Messina) vanished into thin air after brushing up against the tail of Flight 828.

Additionally, there was Captain Daly’s abrupt reappearance and disappearance (Frank Deal). In response to a question concerning Captain Daly, show creator Jeff Rake told TV Insider, “Whether it’s purgatory or the netherworld, these are terminology and notions that Ben and others will struggle to comprehend.”

He goes on to say, “To put it another way, Captain Daly has spent the last five and a half years precisely where the passengers have been. Captain Daly has been exactly where Cal was from the conclusion of Episode 312 when he vanishes to the very end of the season finale when he reappears. What that location is, I’ll defer to Cal when we return in season four.”

The concluding season will examine the repercussions of all of these stories, as well as many others. Rake is optimistic about the show’s future, despite the show’s failure to secure the six seasons he had envisioned. “The endgame will remain the same,” he continues to tell EW. “I am completely certain that twenty episodes will allow me to present the entire story in the manner in which I always wanted.”

Manifest Season 4 Trailer

As a result, no trailer for the upcoming season has been released. Netflix has, however, released a teaser trailer. Each letter in the graphic captioned “Manifest” on Twitter represents “828.”

It is the show’s fourth and last season, which will be available in its entirety on Netflix. Meanwhile, watch the Season 3 trailer below! Fans of the upcoming event are likely to recognize the number 828, which corresponds to the flight number issued to the Montego Air aircraft from Jamaica to New York City.

Those who saw the play will recall that it provided flight 828 between Jamaica and New York City. There was some turbulence throughout the flight, and when the aircraft landed, the passengers discovered they had been missing for more than five years.

After enduring significant turbulence throughout the flight, the passengers discovered they had been missing for five years. None of the passengers, however, discovered what had happened to the plane or how they journeyed through time.

What Could Happen in Manifest Season 4?

Quite a bit. Creator Rake will have to cram the plot of his three planned seasons into those twenty episodes to reach a satisfying finale. He stated in his EW interview: “The endgame will remain unchanged… I am quite certain that twenty episodes will allow me to present the entire story in the manner in which I always wanted.”

“Things are going to be a little….different,” Josh Dallas, who plays Ben, wrote on Twitter alongside a snap of his new beard. Which makes sense, given that his character has recently suffered a…huge loss, to put it mildly. (No! There will be spoilers!) “I love the beard, but my heart is breaking for Ben,” a fan said, and Dallas responded, “To be honest… he’s not in the best place.”

Rake commented on what else viewers might expect from Ben in season four following the events of the season three finale in an interview with TV Insider. “Season 4 of Manifest for Ben is entirely focused on processing, digesting, and coming to emotional terms with such a terrible loss, and then attempting to explain the act in terms of finding purpose.” He also tweeted a behind-the-scenes shot of a funeral, captioned, “Brace yourselves.”

What Happened After Manifest Was Canceled?

By the summer of 2021, when Manifest began to garner attention, both NBC and Netflix had declined to extend the series. However, the show and its fanatical fans persisted, amassing millions of minutes of weekly viewing on Netflix.

“Before we could even consider if we needed a public relations effort to help us save ourselves, the fans stood up and started this campaign and spread the word—which was rewarding and heartening,” Rake told The Hollywood Reporter.

Others soon began to take notice. “Do you hear me, Netflix, Hulu, or any other powers that be? MAKE IT HAPPEN,” BuzzFeed’s Lauren Yapalater wrote. “Why would Netflix abandon a show that has a highly engaged fanbase?” Forbes’ Paul Tassi inquired. Over 100,000 individuals signed a petition to reintroduce Manifest.

Kourtney Kardashian and Demi Lovato both revealed that they’ve become enthusiastic watchers of the show since it debuted on Netflix. Stephen King himself joined the fray, tweeting “#SaveManifest.”

But probably the most outspoken voice came from Netflix’s Top 10, its ranking of the most-streamed shows, where Manifest held the top slot for months after it was canceled. “What secured Manifest a key fourth and final season were the top-secret ratings generated by binge-watching the show’s first two seasons,” the Hollywood Reporter said.

According to Matthew Belloni’s email “What I’m Hearing,” Netflix pursued the show vigorously and finally defeated NBC. “It quickly became evident that there was a more compelling case to be made for shifting the show to Netflix and starting and concluding with the legions of new fans that had grown in the Netflix ecosystem,” Rake stated to THR.
