Ncuti Gatwa Early Life
Gatwa was born on October 15, 1992, in Nyarugenge, Kigali, Rwanda.
Tharcisse Gatwa, a journalist with a Ph.D. in Theology from Rwanda’s Karongi District, is his father.
During the Rwandan genocide in 1994, the family fled Rwanda and lived in Scotland. They split their time between Edinburgh and Dunfermline. Gatwa attended Boroughmuir High School and Dunfermline High School before transferring to Glasgow to pursue a BA in Acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
