Paula Patton is a producer and actress with a net worth of $10 million. Paula Patton is best recognized for her roles in “Hitch,” “Déjà Vu,” “Precious,” “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” and “Warcraft.” “Swing Vote,” “Just Wright,” “2 Guns,” “Baggage Claim,” “The Perfect Match,” “Traffik,” and “Four Kids and It” are among her other credits. Patton had a recurring role in the short-lived ABC drama “Somewhere Between” in 2017.

Early Years and the Beginnings of a Career

Paula Patton was born on December 5, 1975, in Los Angeles, California to Joyce, a schoolteacher, and Charles, a lawyer. On her mother’s side, she is of European-American ancestry, while on her father’s side, she is of African-American origin.

Patton attended Alexander Hamilton High School on Los Angeles’ Westside as a student. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, for a year after graduation before going to the University of Southern California’s film school. Patton had a three-month assignment filming films on PBS after graduating from college.

Patton was a singer and songwriter before she became an actress. Also contributed vocals to Usher’s 2004 album “Confessions,” and she wrote songs for her then-boyfriend Robin Thicke’s albums.

Personal Existence

Patton met 14-year-old musician Robin Thicke in a Los Angeles hip hop club called Balistyx when he was 16 years old in 1991. Thicke invited Patton to dance, and the two started dating a few years later.

They finally married in June of 2005. Julian Fuego, their son born in 2010, is their only child. Later, in early 2014, the couple announced their divorce; they sued for shared custody of their son and divorced in March 2015.

Patton filed a legal motion in early 2017 to limit Thicke’s custody owing to her suspicions that he was abusing their child. Although the request was first dismissed by a judge, Patton was soon given sole custody as well as a restraining order against Thicke.

Documents in court showed that her ex-husband was responsible for numerous incidences of drug and alcohol misuse, as well as domestic violence. Later in the year, he and Patton struck a custody agreement.

Career in Film

Patton made her feature film acting debut in 2005, with a small part in the rom-com “Hitch,” starring Will Smith, Eva Mendes, and Kevin James. She then had a brief cameo in the romantic drama “London,” alongside Chris Evans, Jessica Biel, and Jason Statham. Patton appeared in the 2006 musical film “Idlewild” alongside OutKast members Big Boi and Andre Benjamin.

The following year, she had her mainstream debut in the science-fiction thriller “Déjà Vu,” in which she played Claire Kuchever, opposite Denzel Washington.

Patton went on to play several other significant roles. In 2008, she co-starred in the supernatural horror thriller “Mirrors” with Kiefer Sutherland, and she also participated in the political dramedy “Swing Vote” with Kevin Costner, and Kelsey Grammer, and Dennis Hopper.

The following year, Patton made one of her most renowned performances as a teacher of poor pupils at a Harlem high school in Lee Daniels’ outstanding literary adaptation “Precious.” Patton was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the film’s ensemble cast, which also included Gabourey Sidibe, Mo’Nique, Mariah Carey, and Sherri Shepherd.

Property for Sale

Alan, Robin’s father, paid $910,000 for a property in the Hollywood Hills’ “Bird Streets” neighborhood in 1990. Alan deeded the property to his son in 2005, shortly after Robin and Paula married. Robin and Paula offered the house for sale in 2014 for just under $3 million. The house sold for $4.9 million, which was $1.9 million more than the asking price.

After announcing their divorce in September 2014, Paula paid $2 million for a property in Calabasas, California.

After filming another unscripted pilot, “Runner,” in 2015, the actress appeared as a guest judge on the reality competition series “Project Runway.” She then secured a lead role in the ABC thriller “Somewhere Between,” in which she played a San Francisco news producer who tries to assist authorities in their hunt for a serial killer. Why Did Robin and Paula Call It Quits?

Patton filed for divorce in 2014, after 21 years together and after nine years of marriage. As they battled in court over their kid, the actress claimed infidelity, physical abuse, and drug usage were the causes of their divorce. (Thicke has rejected the charges of cheating and abuse.)
