sanditon season 3

Sanditon is a British period drama television series starring Rose Williams and Theo James. It is directed by Andrew Davies. It is based on a manuscript by Jane Austen that was never completed. The novel is set in the Regency era and follows a young and innocent girl as she makes her way around Sanditon, a new beach town.

The series premiered in the United Kingdom on ITV on 25 August 2019 and in the United States on PBS on 12 January 2020 as part of its Masterpiece anthology.

Due to the novel’s fragmentary nature (Austen authored only eleven chapters), the majority of the first episode was based on the original material, with Davies completing the story through the employment of imagined characters.

The story takes set in a coastal town during a time of social change. By the time Austen died in 1817, she had completed 24,000 words of the manuscript.

A second and third series was commissioned in May 2021 as part of a collaboration between PBS and BritBox, with ITV acquiring the program for further linear transmission.

Following Theo James’ (Sidney Parker) departure, the cast was expanded, with Rose Williams reprising her role as Charlotte Heywood. The production of Season 2 is slated to begin in July 2021. Season 2 began on PBS on March 20, 2022.

As she spends time with her two charges, Augusta Markham (Eloise Webb) and Leonora Colbourne (Flora Mitchell), she develops a new perspective on her boss, and Colbourne begins to open up around her.
