The 17-year-old son of Senate O’Connor died two days after he was reported missing.
The composer shared the news on social media, writing that he “has decided to end his earthly struggle” and asked that “no one is following his example”.

Police confirmed the news of the teenager’s death on Saturday.
Shane O’Connor has been missing since Thursday, with Carde asking for his whereabouts. The 17-year-old, who is missing from Newbridge, County Gilder, was last seen Friday morning in Dallact, area 24 of Dublin, Carde said.
