It’s incredible to see such scant promotion for a Netflix show like this, a post-apocalyptic comic book series. Now, fans want to know what will happen in season 2 of Sweet Tooth.
How Many Seasons of Sweet Tooth Are There?
There is currently only one season of Sweet Tooth available on Netflix. We hope that this will be a four or five-season Netflix original series, but we’ll have to see how things pan out.
Will There Be a Season 2 of Sweet Tooth?
As of July 29, 2021, the second season of Sweet Tooth is officially in the works. According to Collider, Netflix has renewed the quirky series for a second season. What wonderful news for Sweet Tooth enthusiasts!
It was a no-brainer for Netflix to renew Sweet Tooth for a second season, given the response to the show and its popularity since its premiere. The end decision hinged on whether there was more to the tale, whether the creative team wanted to deliver the story, and whether enough viewers were watching. It appears that Sweet Tooth meets all requirements.
When Is Sweet Tooth Season 2 Filming?
According to a rumour from What’s on Netflix, filming for the second season of Sweet Tooth is slated to begin in early 2022 and conclude in June 2022.
On January 17, 2022, Christian Convery announced to his Instagram followers that production on season two had begun! He posed next to his stunt double Liam Reynolds and wrote in the caption, “So good to be back with my awesome homie and Stunt Double @liamjreynoldss Let’s go for it!”
Sweet Tooth Season 2 Cast Video
On June 6 at Netflix Geeked Week 2022, a video showing the cast and crew filming the second season of Sweet Tooth was released. In the video, the cast revealed that work on the second season had concluded. Although the exact date was not disclosed, it appears that filming concluded in June.
Does Sweet Tooth Season 2 Have a Release Date?
Netflix has not yet confirmed the season 2 release date for Sweet Tooth. However, it is possible to make forecasts. The outlook for a 2022 Netflix release date is not encouraging. The second season of Sweet Tooth would likely debut on Netflix in early 2023.
Now, there are Netflix shows that conclude production in June and release new seasons later in the year. I don’t know if that is possible for season 2 of Sweet Tooth. This show has less spectacular effects than others, yet it still has a speedy turnaround.
Expect the second season of Sweet Tooth to debut on Netflix in Q4 2022 at the earliest (October-December).
Sweet Tooth Season 2 Cast
Expected to return are Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, Will Forte, Stefania LaVie Owen, Dania Ramirez, Aliza Vellani, and Neil Sandilands. James Brolin should also return as the series’ narrator in season 2.
Additionally, according to What’s On Netflix, the second season will feature the following new characters: JoJo Cat, Finn Fox, Wally Walrus, and Haley Mockingbird. There have been casting calls for these hybrids, but we do not yet know who will portray them. Once fresh casting announcements are made, we’ll keep you updated.
Netflix has not yet released a synopsis for the second season, but we can assume it will begin just where the first season left off.
