The Joker is Pregnant: DC has recently created a comic book series titled The Man Who Stopped Laughing that centers on the Joker. The series has a variety of narratives, some of which are strictly non-canon, as well as some beloved characters, including the Red Hood.
In the most recent edition of a comic book, Zatanna’s unpredictable magic rendered the Joker pregnant. While the majority recognized the moment for what it was and were able to chuckle, others rushed to Twitter to express their anger.
What Happens in the Man Who Stopped Laughing #4?
This issue was written by Matthew Rosenberg and illustrated by Carmine Di Giandomenico, and it depicted Joker’s pursuit of a successor, specifically one created from his DNA (it seems he has learned from his mistakes with Tim Drake).
While attempting to steal the water supply of Gotham, the Joker meets Zatanna. Seeing the potential for a child with extraordinary strength, he begins flirting with the mystical superheroine.
She casts a charm to prevent anyone from bearing the Joker’s offspring. She is disgusted by this and, for good reason, wants nothing to do with the Joker, as those who associate with the Clown Prince of Darkness never fare well.
Unfortunately, the spell fails and the words “On eno else lliw reve Evah you babe!” are spoken. (No one else will ever have your child), the Joker becomes pregnant by accident without outside assistance.
The following day, Joker discovers he is nine months pregnant in the comic book. After receiving a gynecological examination from Atomic Skull (fortunately, so many of Gotham’s villains are physicians), he vomits a shapeless, intelligent glob.
Joker and his colleagues eventually realize that the shapeless glob has assumed the appearance of the Joker and is only a mutant version of himself. The two instantly fall in love with one another, believing the other to be gorgeous, and Joker acquires a new heir.
It is not precisely the outcome Zatanna had hoped for, and Batman will not be particularly pleased when he meets the little Joker.

It is a fascinating short story about magic went awry and what might happen if Zatanna is not precise with her spells, however, some readers did not find the narrative’s humor amusing.
Complaints of Disgruntled Fans
Those angered by Joker’s pregnancy flocked to Twitter after reading the comic. First, with the decision to make Tim Drake (Red Robin) and Conner Kent (Superboy) bisexual in some of their most recent books, they began to accuse DC of imposing LGBT+-friendly themes on its fandom.
None of the characters involved in the pregnancy ever use the term “trans,” primarily because pregnancy and birth are the consequence of magic gone awry. Still, fans appear to have forgotten this detail, as well as the fact that the Joker’s technique of childbirth is not entirely anatomically accurate.
Will Joker Become a Father in the Movies?
David Ayer’s Suicide Squad hinted at a fantastical future for Joker and Harley involving a happy family with children, but this is now an afterthought. However, there could be baby Jokers in the Joker franchise created by Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix.
Joker: Folie à Deux will feature Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. Therefore, as she marries Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenix, we could very well witness one or two Joker babies in Joker 3. This will be an attempt at something never before attempted on the big screen. But if Joker 2 is successful, there will be no stopping the third installment.
