Keith Cole was defeated by him. He quickly changed his ring name to Terra Ryzing, which he retained for several months until rebranding as Jean-Paul Levesque. As part of his character’s gimmick, he was required to talk with a French accent.

Levesque spoke with Vince McMahon to consider becoming a member of his league, but McMahon was not interested at the moment. Helmsley defeated Mankind in the finals of the 1997 King of the Ring competition. Shawn Michaels, Helmsley, Chyna, and Rick Rude created D-Generation X later that year (DX). This stability was a significant component of the 1990s’ “Attitude Era.” During this period, his ring moniker was abbreviated as Triple H.

Triple H founded the Evolution stable alongside Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista in February 2003. Triple H and Flair competed for the World Tag Team Championship against Rob Van Dam and Kane but were defeated. From 2003 to 2004, the group was promoted on Raw, and their power peaked during Armageddon

when every member of Evolution departed the pay-per-view with a title. Triple H held the World Heavyweight Championship for the majority of 2003, defending it successfully against Booker T at WrestleMania XIX in a storyline with racist overtones. He lost the title after 280 days to Goldberg in September 2003 at Unforgiven, in about with the stipulation that Goldberg would have to retire if he lost.
