When Did Lamelo Ball Start Playing Basketball?
LaMelo was born in Anaheim, California, on August 22, 2001. Both of his parents were former college basketball players, and he is the son of LaVar and Tina Ball. Therefore, it would not be incorrect to state that basketball runs in the Ball family’s blood.
Ball’s father began basketball training as soon as he could walk. At the age of 4, he began playing basketball with his older brothers Lonzo and LiAngelo. He dabbled in flag football when he was five years old, but basketball was his primary concentration.
In 2013, the 20-year-old began playing with his brothers on Big Ballers VTX, a 17-and-under Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team that his parents founded and coached.
LaMelo attended Chino Hills High School in Chino Hills, California, where he continued to play basketball with his older siblings during his freshman year. Approximately 27 points were scored in his first game as a starter. With his older brothers Lonzo and LiAngelo, he won a state title and gained national success as a freshman.
